Working On my Blessings Jar

Last Christmas I started this Blessings Jar- I've been neglecting it a bit.  Sadly, because of last week's events in Japan and at Jon's work, I've been reminded to reflect on my blessings....

I am blessed with:

- a healthy spouse
- a healthy, beautiful, effervescent little daughter
- a safe, warm, comfortable home
- family and friends
- Jon's chocolate chip pancakes
- safety and stability in life
- peace

Here are a few moments of my life....moments I am forever blessed with!

I decided I needed to take some photos of Aurelia in her favorite jacket and boots before the snow melts.....such a cutie pie!

Lucky

Like I wrote last week, time just flies when you're having fun!  I absolutely had a blast today.  It was a great balance of Arie's favorite activities and mine as well!  We went to the Roseville Library and made some friends....I signed up for the Saint Paul Moms Meetup group!  This will be a fun adventure for the both of us. 

We also went to an antique store to look at table cloths and for me to find inspiration for my art... loved it!  We found some fun vintage postcards and some cool cheap puzzles for Arie... she's obsessed with puzzles lately! 

I am also working on a layered ruffled curtain set (inspired by this tutorial) for Arie's eventual big-girl room.  Below are the fabrics I chose....

I just know this project is going to take me forever!  Hoping it will be worth it!

I feel so lucky to have these days with her... I can't say that enough.  I feel even more lucky to know where my loved ones are and know that they are safe...

Last Weds, Jon's place of work completely burnt to the ground.  Today, the earth quake in Japan took many many lives....

We are all so very lucky these days!

Time Flies When You're Having Fun

I feel so blessed to have Fridays to be with my Aurelia.  In the summer we usually have a good routine- lake beach in the morning, nap, then errands.  Our winter Fridays haven't been as routine...it's really hard to come up with fun stuff to do indoors that is FREE.

Today, we ran errands, went to the mall (there is an indoor play area), and then to Como Conservatory.  The sloth in the rain forest room actually was up and moving!  It was scratching its face... the most I've ever seen it move during our many visits to Como. 

I usually plan our days around Arie's nap time, but I think she's either having too much fun with me or she is starting to phase out her nap time.  She didn't go down until 3!

My brother is getting married in May, so I thought it'd be a good opportunity to look for a dress for Aurelia.  She fell in love with a dress from Baby Gap...of course she called it a tutu...it's got tons of ruffles.... so cute.
